Environmentally Conscious

In recognition and respect of our First Nations people, learning about and caring for Country is a focus for our community.

At our school we are cognisant of and strive to minimise our impact on the environment. One of our Strategic Priorities is to create a step change in sustainability practices and education.

Our student Sustainability Action Group leaders, work alongside staff and parents to review our practices and develop ideas to bring about change.

Our current initiatives include:

• Being a rubbish free school, whereby students are encouraged to ‘nude their food’, using reusable containers for packing their lunches

• Limiting our use of plastics such as laminating, shopping bags and stickers

• Establishing a vegetable garden and composting station

• Participating in and supporting Clean Up Australia Day and Take Three for the Sea projects

• Purchasing resources and equipment for our school that have the least impact on the environment
